This is the archive for the journal of the Forge of Fury adventure from my campaign.  I've reformatted the reverse chronological order that is found on the main campaign history page (and that it was originally posted in) to an easier-to-read format.

26th day of Reaping, 591 CY
After leaving Oakhurst, the party split up to tend to their own agendas.  Without any hints as to what the golden keys were fore, they agreed the party's next destination should be the dwarven mine that they found a map to.  With that, they agreed to head to Khundrukar, or The Glitterhame. After ascertaining that Blasingdell is the town nearest to the Stone Tooth, which holds the Glitterhame, they agreed to meet in Blasingdell in six weeks. Well, they told Holten to meet there in six weeks.  Haggar told everyone else to meet in Blasingdell in five weeks, but we are getting ahead of the story for a moment.
Haggar rode with Rannos, who journeyed to his home church for spiritual guidance.  Wyatt returned home to Zuril, delivering the fruit from the Gulthias Tree to save his dying sister.  The fruit's magical properties held true, and Wyatt's sister began to make a full recovery.  Holten also returned to the town of his birth.  The rest of the party went their separate ways and enjoyed a leisurely and uneventful trip to Blasingdell.
So, getting back to the plans to meet in Blasingdell.  It seems that some of the party didn't trust Holten, and schemed to leave him behind.  They agreed to meet in Blasingdell early, and start off to the Stone Tooth without him.  On the 26th of Reaping, the group, sans Hotlen, began their trek to the Stone Tooth.  Briladon, the local bard, set them upon the trail shown in the map and told them the Stone Tooth lay three days away.  He also regaled them with stories of Durgeddin the Black, the famed dwarven smith and founder of Khundrukar and of the legends of wondrous treasure hidden there.
Durgeddin was a master smith who forged blades of surpassing quality and power.  Centuries ago, Durgeddin's home was sacked by orcs.  Durgeddin led the remnants of his clan to a new stronghold in the mountains north of the town of Blasingdell and established a small, secret stronghold there.
From his hidden redoubt, he waged a decades-long vendetta against all orc-kind, until one day his enemies discovered his fortress and attacked it.  Durgeddin and his followers perished and much wealth was carried away by the conquering hordes.  But it's said that the deepest and best-hidden vaults and armories escaped the looting, and that some of Durgeddin's extraordinary blades still wait in the darkness for a hand bold enough to claim one.  Anyway, that's what Briladon said.
Once on their way, the group had a run in with two large, intelligent wolf-like creatures called Worgs.  Nothing they couldn't handle, but there was some tense moments because Rannos seemed to have a problem finding out which end of his weapon he should hold.  Rannos, who was on watch with Sunche when worgs attacked, was unable to connect with any attacks.
Upon finally reaching the trail that approaches the Stone Tooth, they were surprised when Holten caught up with them.  After traveling hard for three days, with the help of some information gathered from Briladon, Holten managed to overtake the party.  A few awkward moments passed, then all seemed to be put aside.  For now....
Anyway, heading up the trail towards the Glitterhame, the party spotted two porcine looking humanoids standing guard.  Orcs!  For whatever reason, the group thought the orcs might be lonely and bored standing guard, and attempted to engage them in conversation.  This caused them to sound the alarm and run towards the (for now) open doors to the Glitterhame.  After taking down one of the orcs outside, and finally making it to the front door (after some of the party getting shot at by orc snipers), the party took a few minutes to bash the (now closed and barred) door in.  Once inside, the secret doors leading to the sniper areas were found and a short battle ensued.  Moving on through yet another secret door, the party stumbled onto the barracks.  After dispatching the orcs in that room, they hunkered down for the night.  Rannos healed those who were most injured, and the spellcasters prepared for the next day.  As some of the party went to check the back way, they were attacked by orcs, who seem to be waiting for them to come out.  A nearly endless supply followed, with any fallen orc's place quickly being filled by a ready comrade.  Meanwhile, in the barrack room, half the party kept an eye on the back door, waiting for an attack.  They didn't have to wait long.  In came more orcs, along with an ogre and his two pet wolves.
After a long and hard battle fought on two fronts, the party was ultimately triumphant.  Haggar's Horribles took the all the orc stronghold had to throw at them, and valiantly conquered each and all foes.  The group decided to head back to Blasingdell, where they could rest up in peace. Now, the only problem was getting all of the equipment looted from the dead orcs back to town so they could sell it.  Wait until Briladon hears about this; perhaps he'll write a song!  Wait, then he'd want to sing it to the group.....

8th day of Goodmonth, 591 CY

Having rested, Haggar's Horribles took some time to get their booty to Blasingdell.  After the a week passed, the party was ready to brave Khundrukar again.  Talking their time, and searching all of the areas, the group found some minor treasure and a great deal of food stuffs, cloth, and other general merchandise that the orcs had been stealing from the caravans they were raiding. The group also freed two prisoners the orcs had held for nearly a month and returned them to their families.  Upon the return to the  Much of the party stayed together, letting Wyatt search ahead for traps.  That was until Sunche felt like playing the rouge himself.  While the rest of the group was searching a cavern full of barrels and crates, Sunche opened a locked iron door and unleashed four blood-sucking flying stirges.  He fought them valiantly, but finally had to retreat back to the main cavern where the rest of the group was searching.  Unfortunately, the stirges followed and continued to press their attack.  With the rest of the party at his back, Sunche easily defeated the stirge menance, but not until they had drained a serious amount of blood.  Too weak to continue, Sunche headed back to Blasingdell for a week or so of beneficial bed-rest.
After saying farewell to Sunche, the rest of the group went into the room that had been barred by the iron door.  In it they found two doors.  Wyatt searched the door on the north wall and pronounced it clean.  Upon opening the door, six jets of alchemist's fire shot out and seriously burned half the party.  Then the door shut!  A bit of inventive trap logic later, they got the door opened (safely) only to find that the room contained the depleted mechanical workings of the trap itself.  Tired and hurt, after checking the last room on this level, the group agreed to return to Blasingdell and lick their wounds alongside their comrade Sunche.
